Full Metal Alchemist

I’m not sure if it’s a complete remake of the series or a continuation from the Hagaren movie. Judging from the trailers, it’s probably a remake (Look, it’s Hughes!) which is based on the manga (and probably won’t stray away from it too much). They obviously changed the details (like Roy’s) and there will be some voice change too (like Roy’s, haha). I’ve seen some images of Roy, and I agree that he looks weird. Especially the way his eyes slant. Speaking of Roy and Hughes, we’ll see Hughes die AGAIN, but of course, if it really stays true to the manga, Roy wouldn’t be avenging Hughes’ death until the later parts. There’ll be a major change on the Homonculi (lol, Dante) AND THERE WOULDN’T BE A REAL WORLD where Ed learns how to make aircrafts. There wouldn’t be that much clones…I hope and Ed’s teacher would still be alive. But these will make the new series less dramatic and more on the action and philosophical side. So let’s watch this and save our rants and comments for later.

07-Ghost

My first impression: This anime is shounen.

But I looked at the comments below the video and someone mentioned about it being put under shoujo because the manga has some BL moments. Based on the trailer, the story is most likely about betrayal, military, murder, memory loss, dark pasts, and *insert shounen elements here.* I don’t know if it’s promising enough for weekly reviews, but I will try to watch it, but if it gets slow and boring, there’s a great chance that I’ll abandon it, too. Eden of the East

Terrorist attacks, missile strikes, Washington DC, orange-haired girl, mobile phones, guns, and a naked guy. The combination is so strange that I don’t know what its genre is.  I can’t say anything more than this because that’s basically the summary on Eden of the East’s ANN page. Also, I can’t find the official website. Maybe it doesn’t have one, I don’t know.

Tsubasa Shunraiki and xxxHOLiC Shunmuki

Yes, those are OAV’s. Yes, they crossover.

I stopped watching TRC when I once lost my desire to watch internet-streamed videos. I caught up with the manga instead and started watching (and reading) CLAMP’s other work (xxxHOLiC) when that desire came back and I started utilizing my ninja skills. I liked the eerie-factor of HOLiC’s first season so I kept myself updated and read the manga when the second season had finished. Anyway, the OAV’s follow the manga storylines. That means clones, clones, clones, and more confusion. According to ANN, Tsubasa Shunraiki’s story happens when Sakura is trapped in the dream world and Clone Syaoran appears while the Real Syaoran tries to save her. I can’t remember what was happening on the HOLiC world while all this ruckus happens in TRC. I don’t want to spoil myself so I’m watching both shows before putting something else here. I’m glad they made OAV’s instead of full series because I’ll end up watching xxxHOLiC while ignoring Tsubasa.

Yes, it’s Sakura’s birthday! And, uh… Watanuki’s birthday. And all the other clones/copies/anybody named Sakura in the CLAMP world. AND the incarnationSSS of Syaoran.

I really wish they’d stop making clones and then kill them or make them disappear. It’s also confusing. I read the latest chapter of TRC and I don’t know who’s CCS Sakura among all those people who look like her.

So the episode started with Ciel and Sebastian on a boat and crazy white man having a crazy monologue while on top of burning London. To make this shorter, Ciel ordered Sebastian to kill the angel. The fight starts. Crazy white man starts to switch from his form to crazy white woman’s form and back to his. Sebastian loses his left arm. After some action, Sebastian protects Ciel from the attack and falling objects. He asks Ciel to keep his eyes closed until he says it’s okay to do so because he doesn’t want his master to see his true form. As expected, Sebastian changes to his real form and starts murdering the angel. Ciel starts slipping down but he was able to hold on to the edge. Sebastian asks Ciel to stay alive while he counts to ten. He continues murdering the angel and finishes him. Ciel finally opens his eyes and sees Sebastian’s butler form. He lets go of the edge and falls, but Sebastian manages to save him (again).

The fake queen is having a speech in front of the people. Scene switches to Elizabeth on a field with blue flowers. She says that the blue flower reminds her of Ciel’s ring. And so they make a ring, the wind blew it away. Scene switches back to Ciel and Sebastian. Ciel’s life started flowing on the water, so he concludes that he is now dead. The next part shows the other characters of the series during the series and not before they were dead.  The next part is just about Tanaka’s journal being handed to Ciel for the “boring trip.” The blue flower ring reaches them and Sebastian tries to put it on Ciel’s finger, but he only had one arm left. My comments:

First of all, this scene was weird:

I mean the subs are. I don’t know if he really said octopus but I read somewhere that it was supposed to be past, not octopus. If someone happens to know this, please tell me.

I couldn’t say if the ending was good or bad. The last scenes were too fast for me, and I wanted to see what really happened after the “Then… Young master” part. Of course, Sebastian’s real form is still unclear to all of us, but it was good enough for me. I wouldn’t want to be disappointed if they ever showed his demon form. It’s all left to our imagination, I guess. Yes, the last episode was fast, but it had to be like that so the series would patch everything up within 24 minutes. It also had some strange BL implications on the near end of the episode that made it a lot weirder than how it’s supposed to be. Especially the part when Sebastian removed Ciel’s eyepatch. (You have to see it in action to know what I mean.) Other than that, it wasn’t so BL-ish anymore because, well, the show ended. I was waiting for more scenes but the credits simply disappointed me when it finished with a preview of another show. With that kind of ending for Kuroshitsuji, I have to say that we might just have a second season, but of course they want us to use our imagination (and read the manga). OR they could do a remake of the series just like what others are doing to FMA now. Though seriously, it could end just like that. If they do make a sequel, I hope they don’t put fillers anymore (lame wish, I know) because I might do the same thing: First few episodes ———> Ending.
